Maisey's First Trip to the Doctor (as a Clark)

One of the requirement of the US Government for foreign adoptions is that the child receive a medical exam.  I think this is mostly to prevent certain diseases from entering our county, and to assess the overall health of each adopted child.

So we left our hotel at 9:30 to get there early as there were dozens of families there.  We met a number of great people while were were waiting.  There's a strong since of community among the adopting families; I think it's because we can all identify with the stress and joy of these moments and share in them together.  We've given and have been given baby clothes while among these families.  We'd give something that was too small and receive things that would fit Maisey.  There is a great family feeling.

Anyway, back to the doctors.  Maisey passed her physical, but it was very much socialized medicine.  Picture going from room to room meeting clinician or doctors for 1-4 minutes, and then moving along the assembly line to the next station.  Kind of like a visit to the DMV, lots of waiting and not really understanding what's going on.  Anyway, that's a whole different post for a whole different blog.  Maisey did very well, she did not cry once, but did give a pouty face and some attitude to the Doctors.

  1. Maisey sure doesn't look happy getting poked and manhandled. Looking forward to meeting Maisey in person.
