Sunday

We started the day by talking to our boys in Connecticut, and saying goodnight over FaceTime.  We will be doing a video chat with our Church Community tonight at 11:15. (Sunday morning in CT).

We had breakfast in our hotel, and then we and another family had a little Sunday Bible and prayer time in the local Starbucks.  I figured why not do a small, quiet and inconspicuous Sunday service.  We read Joshua chapter 4, which is about how the Israelites crossed into the promised land.  It talks about how God kept his promises and delivered them into the land.  God asked the High Priests to take a step of faith into the Jordan river, which was flowing quick and deep as it was flood season.  When the bottoms of their feet touched the water, the flow of the Jordan upstream stopped and piled up in a heap.  God ask them to step first before he stopped the water. Then Joshua, acting on Moses' specific instructions from God, asked a member from each of the 12 tribes to take a stone from the bottom of the Jordan, which was now dry land, and stand it up on the other side.  This was to remind the descendants of Israel that God delivered on His promise.

We were reminded in this process of adopting Maisey, that God asked us, and nearly all the parents we've met, to step out in faith.  Each family has had to wait for God to remove the obstacle and deliver on His promise.  We have seen so much from God, funding showing up when we needed it, a process that went smoothly, and a daughter who is better than we could have imagined.  Sometimes I think God gets angry with us not because we ask for to much, but too little.  He so wants us to rely on Him.   And when we do, miracles beyond imagination happen.

God's Promise delivered
